MUSIC MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS

All rehearsals are in the Music Suite located directly below the sanctuary. Nursery Care is provided for all rehearsals

SANCTUARY CHOIR

The Sanctuary Choir is the principal choir at Athens First United Methodist Church. The choir is open to all adults without audition, and new members are welcome at any time of the year.  The Sanctuary Choir sings in the 9:45 and 11:00 Sunday worship services and in special services throughout the year. In addition, retreats and social events are scheduled throughout the year.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the choir room.  

CHAMBER ENSEMBLE

The Chamber Ensemble is a group of auditioned singers from the Sanctuary Choir.  The ensemble rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 - 6:15 p.m. in the choir room and sings monthly in worship.  For availability contact Stephen Mitchell.

ALLELUIA RINGERS

An advanced handbell choir open to all with previous handbell experience.  Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. in the handbell room.  This group rings in worship once a month and often throughout the community for special events and services. 

CARILLON RINGERS

A beginning/intermediate handbell choir open to all without audition or previous experience.  Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from
5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in the handbell room.  This group rings in worship once a month.

BRASS AND WOODWIND ENSEMBLES

Instrumental Ensembles open to all with previous instrumental experience.  Rehearsal times/days vary.  Contact Stephen Mitchell for more information.

LADIES FIRST!

A choral ensemble open to all women without audition.  The ensemble sings in worship bimonthly and rehearses on Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m.  Contact Janis Maxwell for more information.
