From January 16 to 31, take your gently used coats and jackets to Masada Leather and Outdoor (238 E. All useful coats and jackets will be given to those in need in our local community. Your donation will help keep folks warm this winter. LOCAL MISSIONS
Mobile Food Pantry
Join us each month to help distribute food people in need in our community. Ten thousand pounds of food is delivered to our church for us to distribute. Volunteers help with set up at 8:30 a.m. Distribution begins about 9:30 a.m. and we finish around 11 a.m. Children can serve with parents (they must stay with you at all times). Questions? Interfaith Hospitality Network
Our church is one of fourteen Athens area churches and communities of faith that provide shelter, meals and support for homeless families in crisis situations through the Interfaith Hospitality Network.

Our Daily Bread

Our church prepares and serves lunch at Our Daily Bread soup kitchen twenty three times during the year. Sunday school groups, choir groups and UMW Circles serve together in this ministry. Prayer Shawl Ministry
If you are an experienced knitter, would like to learn to knit, or if you crochet, please join us on Wednesday evenings at 4:30 for our Prayer Shawl Ministry. We meet in the parlor on the second floor next to the elevator. Our opening prayer is at 5:00 p.m. with closing prayer over completed shawls at 5:20 p.m. Some continue to knit after that. Come join us when possible!

Costa Rica Missions

You can be a part of the Go Team and serve on the trip, or be a part of the Send Team and provide needed prayers, supplies, and finances that enable the Go Team. Together we are One Team for the mission of Jesus Christ. Taking the Go Team to and from the airport is a part of sending, as well. We will collect certain items such as clothing, shoes, and craft supplies prior to our trip to take as donations.

We will be focusing our Global efforts to touch the world with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ. Be looking for an upcoming Global Mission Seminar in the Spring, 2010.
